guilty pleasure 2

It’s a guilty pleasure, but yeah, PROJECT RUNWAY is the only thing on TV I’ll go out of my way to see. After episode 2, some idiosyncratic behavior can be detected, but the designers have not distinguished themselves much in terms of design or personality. Certainly none of them are particularly endearing.

In previous seasons, it was pretty clear from the outset who would survive until the end. Stella is just plain scary-looking and creepy, and that alone might buy her time. Blayne might be deeper than I first thought, because his riff on the word leather was pretty funny. But his annoying attempts to make “licious” this season’s “fierce” are making me gag. Not to mention the fact that his episode 1 creation was hideous. Kelli talks loud. Kenley and Emily look alike. At first I thought they were one person who wore a flower sometimes. (Kenley is the Bettie Page wannabe. Apparently the BP look is new to Natalie Portman. I guess she doesn’t get around much.) Jennifer and Leanne look even more alike. Suede talks about himself in the third person, and perhaps that’s why he got me to remember his name. I can only name the others from checking the photo above.

All right. It’s trash. And I am trashy for trashing the trash. But one can’t be all intellectual and evolved all the time, can one? Call me well-rounded.

MAD MEN (how could I not like the name?) might be the only other thing on TV I’ll go out of my way to see. Let’s hope this next season lives up to last’s and all the hype.
